NRA advises motorists to stay off roads

The National Roads Authority Monday (21 May) advises motorists to stay off Cayman’s roads after a day’s worth of rain leaves dozens of thoroughfares wet and flooded.

“Drive with caution and watch for potholes and water ponding on the roads,” NRA’s Brian Chin Yee said in a statement.

The statement came through about an hour after a car crash closed North West Point Road to traffic and downed power lines in the area.

“Please stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary,” Mr. Chin Yee said. “Watch out for crews clearing drains and repairing potholes on the roads.”
