Rain affects flights, poor visibility forces planes to divert

Rainy weather impacted flights heading into Cayman this weekend.
Today (22 May) the Cayman Islands Airports Authority confirmed that four flights were unable to land at the Owen Roberts Airport this weekend as a result of low visibility (low cloud base) in Grand Cayman caused by the inclement weather. One of the flights was sent to Cayman Brac.
According to the CIAA United flight 1494 from Houston was diverted to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Cayman Airways flight 883 from Honduras was diverted to Charles Kirkconnell Airport in the Brac.
British Airways flight 253 from Nassau was diverted back to Nassau, Bahamas and Cayman Airways flight 201 from Tampa was diverted to Montego Bay.
A CIAA spokesperson said no changes were expected today (22 May.)
