East End resident Roland Welcome pleaded guilty to charges of wounding with intent in Grand Court on Thursday (31 May.)
The 36-year-old man was originally scheduled to go on trial, but he opted instead to enter his plea. His charges stem from an incident back in 2017.
According to police, the female victim was walking past Mr. Welcome’s home when he reportedly approached her and started a conversation. He then took her iPad from her hands and refused to return it. An altercation ensued between them and the victim received lacerations on her hand and the side of her head from a machete.
Mr. Welcome will be sentenced on 19 July.
