D.C. United to face defending champion Cuba in Saturday’s U15 Youth Cup Final

The Cayman Islands Invitational Under-15 Youth Football Cup will be decided Saturday (2 June) with defending champion Cuba taking on the undefeated D.C. United.

In Friday’s semifinals, D.C. United knocked off Jamaica’s Portmore United 2-1. United’s Jonathan Valladares opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. Portmore answered with Tyrese Williams’ equalizer in the 44th minute.  Moses Nyeman scored the deciding goal for United in extra time to secure the win.

Penalties determined Cuba’s fate in the second semifinal as the defending champions advanced 5-4 versus Harbour View F.C.

The Finals between Cuba and D.C. United start at 7:30 pm, while Portmore United and Harbour View F.C will play for third place at 6:00 pm.

Both games will take place at the Ed Bush Playing Field.
