DOT extends condolences on Anthony Bourdain passing

Popular chef and TV star Anthony Bourdain was found dead today (8 June) in his hotel room in France. He’s one of Cayman’s favorite celebrity chefs and a regular visitor.
Mr. Bourdain has been a frequent addition to local event Cayman Cookout and he had been very complimentary of Cayman on his visits.
The 61-year-old chef was in France filming his popular  CNN show Parts Unknown when he died.
Today condolences poured in as news of his death spread. The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism issued a statement.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of Anthony Bourdain’s passing. Our prayers and condolences are with his family and friends. The Cayman Islands will remember him most fondly and with much love,” the statement said.
