Injured dog showing encouraging signs on long road to recovery


Virtue, the small dog surrendered to the One Dog at a Time animal rescue non-profit with horrific injuries Tuesday night is slowly on the mend.

The charity told Cayman 27 the small breed dog, possibly a Yorkshire terrier, is still in a lot of pain and sleeping a lot.

Virtue is eating food and that’s an encouraging sign.

One Dog at a Time said Virtue is expected to remain at the vets over the weekend, and once stable will have surgery to sew up the worst of her bite wounds remove her teeth.
