Police investigate report of rape

Police say they are investigating a report of rape in the Savannah area.

The attack happened last Monday (28 May) but it was only reported on Friday (1 June), according to an RCIPS statement issued Tuesday (5 June).

Police said the female victim was driving toward Bodden Town around 4:30 a.m. on 28 May when she pulled off the road near the intersection of Astral Way and Homestead Crescent, in Savannah. She said she exited her vehicle and was grabbed from behind by a man wearing a mask and dark clothing.

She said the man was accompanied by three other masked men. They pulled her back into her vehicle and drove to a nearby location where she was raped. The culprits then left.

Police are appealing witnesses to call Bodden Town CID at 649-2220.
