Murder accused William Ian Rivers returned to Grand Court on Friday (8 June.) The aim of his appearance was to determine if Mr. Rivers was fit to enter a plea but that was not done.
Both the crown and the defense provided conflicting reports about Mr. Rivers mental state after two psychiatric reports were conducted. This prompted Justice Carlisle Greaves to set a pre-trial date for 23 July.
On that date experts from the defense and the Crown will present their case on Mr. Rivers mental state.
Mr. Rivers is accused of killing Mark Hubba Seymour last January outside a West Bay restaurant. Police say Mr. Rivers shot and killed Mr. Seymour before holding four hostages in a three-hour standoff with the RCIPS.
