Boxing Gym gets makeover from local artists, law firm donation

Two local groups gave the home of Cayman’s amateur boxers a knockout first impression.

The interior of the Dalmain Ebanks Boxing Gym now sports new boxing-themed murals courtesy of local artists from Artouch Studios, while the exterior received a power wash and fresh coat of paint courtesy of Broadhurst LLC.

In a statement found on their website, Managing Partner Kyle Broadhurst said  “our employees love boxing training and we have seen first-hand the great work that the team at the Boxing Association are doing with their youth programmes. Broadhurst LLC are always keen to support Caymanian youth and community initiatives. We even had one of the young national boxing team members intern with our firm. Providing sponsorship towards a more welcoming training environment was something that we were delighted to do.”

Carlos Garcia, one of the local artist who donated his time, said the murals are not only a worthwhile donation but an important message about the art community.

“In a social contribution, you are thinking about how to help people, the island, the kids. Arts on the island is kind of slow, so we just trying to build it back up, and this is the best way to start doing it.”
