Update: Power restored to affected communities

Power has now been restored to areas affected by Sunday (11 November) evening’s outage.

Over 14, 000 Caribbean Utilities Company (CUC) customers were left in the dark on Sunday (11 November) evening after a power outage stretching from West Bay to Rum Point.

CUC confirmed customers in the areas of George Town, Bodden Town and North Side were also experiencing the outage.

According to an alert posted on its Facebook page earlier Sunday evening, CUC said crews were “working to restore energy safely and efficiently.”

The cause of the outage is being attributed to an equipment failure at one of CUC’s sub stations.
