FCO’s Ben Merrick makes brief stop, talks constitutional changes

The FCO Director for UK Overseas Territories, Ben Merrick, touched down briefly in Cayman on Friday (23 November.)

Top of the agenda for the director, a breakfast meeting with Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin to discuss Cayman’s constitutional change requests.
According to Government Information Services, it was one of several high-level meetings he held on his whirlwind visit.
Mr. Merrick rounded off the day with a tour of the Air Operations Unit.
While there Mr. Merrick was briefed on the regional helicopter project which will see a new helicopter heading to Grand Cayman soon. The helicopter will be jointly funded by CI government and the UK government.
