The National Gallery’s annual fundraising gala is coming up and the Art of Fashion is the name of the game.
This year’s gala was inspired by the Gallery’s current exhibition, which looks at the influence of art and fashion on Caymanian culture.
Collections from Caymanian fashion designers Isy B and Jawara Alleyne will be showcased during a runway show during the event.
As always, the funds raised go to support National Gallery programming.
“This year it is the National Gallery Creative Careers Programme, which is an internship, work experience and scholarship program for any young creative Caymanian teen who wants to go into the creative industries in a wider sense, i.e. museum work, architecture, design, graphics, film, all of those different subjects,” said National Gallery Director Natalie Urquhart.
Ms. Urquhart told Cayman 27 speeches will be kept to a minimum, and attendees should bring their dancing shoes, as the National Gallery gala is always one of the most anticipated parties of the year.
