Governor Roper explains how he’ll work with local legislators

Cayman’s new Governor spent last week meeting local legislators, getting to grips with local issues.

On Thursday (1 November), Governor Martyn Roper revealed details of how he sees his governorship playing out, alongside Cayman’s elected officials.

“I think one of the important ways the governor can support the local government is to have influence quietly, behind the scenes,” Mr. Roper said.

He added: “I don’t want to get on the front foot publicly at this stage about specific issues.”

And a reminder: We’ll have Mr. Roper live in the studio on Wednesday (7 November) night’s show.
