McTaggart says a bigger is surplus ahead as Gov’t’s finances increases


Finance Minister Hon. Roy McTaggart says the government is on track to not only meet its $81 million surplus target, but surpass it at the end of 2018.
On Friday (16 November) Mr. McTaggart tabled Cayman’s third quarter unaudited results in the LA.

He pointed out that there were positive gains in core government revenues.
“All the indicators are that the economy is performing exceedingly well. Basically, in all areas that we look at and measure in terms of our GDP everything is making a positive contribution to the growth in the economy and that translates directly into the success government is seeing in terms of the inflows,” Mr. McTaggart said.
He said Cayman’s positive growth is forecast to continue.
