Opposition Leader Hon. Ezzard Miller accused government of ‘moving the goalposts’ on the cruise berthing project.
In an August 2018 press release, the Tourism Ministry detailed the steps of the cruise berthing procurement process, noting that submission of final tenders from the three remaining bidders was due in October.
Mr. Miller said it’s his understanding that a final bidder won’t be named until next year.
“They keep moving the goalposts, we were told most recently that they hope to select the successful bidder of three, now I understand it has to be put off till March, I hope so, because I hope it never happens, but we don’t know because the government itself is not definitive in anything,” said Mr. Miller.
Multiple attempts to reach the Ministry of Tourism for comment on this story were unsuccessful.
