Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin leaves for London on Friday (30 November) for what, some say, could be one of the most important trips of his administration.
Mr. McLaughlin is set to hold talks with the UK government on Constitutional changes.
Those meetings take place next Friday (7 December) and the following Monday (10 December.)
Last week the Premier addressed the issue in the LA.
He assured that no permanent steps will be taken without local legislators’ involvement.
“I want, Mr. Speaker, further to reassure this House and the general public, that before any final safeguards to our Constitution are agreed with the UK the proposed Constitutional revisions will be debated and voted upon in this House,” said Mr. McLaughlin.
Opposition Leader Hon. Ezzard Miller and his deputy Alva Suckoo will join the Premier for the constitutional talks next week.
The Premier is also heading to London for the Joint Ministerial Council meeting.
Those discussions begin on Monday (3 December.)
