Scranton purchase welcomed, Bryan wants community involved

George Town Central MLA Kenneth Bryan says now that government owns the Scranton Central Park the community should get a say on what happens with the land.
On Wednesday (14 November) Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin announced the purchase of the park.
Mr. Bryan said the George Town Central Scranton Committee, which is now a non-profit organisation, had some ideas to upgrade the facility. He said he is hoping the government can partner with him and the committee to make it happen.
“I think the property is large enough to create a miniature national park downtown which can create a number of amenities for the people in the surrounding areas. I am willing to work with them if they are willing to work with me,” said Mr. Bryan.
Government paid CI$272,500 for the land.
