Winspear flags slow progress, recommendations not being done fast enough by Gov’t

Auditor General Sue Winspear has flagged government’s slow implementation of recommendations from her office’s reports, some dating back as far as 2015.

On Monday (5 November) Ms. Winspear released her follow-up on past Public Accounts Recommendations report.

In it, she said out of the eight reports produced by her office only recommendations in two of them have been fully implemented.
“I am also concerned that some of the original recommendations with limited or no progress to date, go back as far as May 2015 and that implementation dates for some recommendations continue to be rescheduled into the future,” said Ms. Winspear.
