Experience the Ritz-Carlton: Cayman Cookout is back

Cayman Cookout is back for its 8th year. The festival is a weekend celebration of food, wind and the natural beauty of the Caribbean. Daybreak’s Delisa Hernandez spoke with Ritz-Carlton Executive Chef Frederic Morineau to find out what makes the event so special.

Chef Frederic notes that it truly does celebrate local cuisine. Many of the  events will feature local produce, from local farmers and vendors.  The festival also brings together many famed chefs, including Eric Ripert, Anthony Bourdain, and José Andrés , as well as chefs from Ritz-Carltons around the world.

There is something for every palate at this year’s festival, with an average of 4 to 6 cooking classes taking place every day. Chef Frederic says some highlight events to look out for include, The Rundown with Anthony Bourdain, An Afternoon at Blue with Tom Colicchio, Barefoot BBQ, The Bon Vivant Champagne Brunch Cook OFf, and Rum & Robusto.

The festival ends Sunday 17 January.
