Independent MLA Winston Connolly wants to get a conversation started on renewable energy. He said Cayman has some catching up to do…
Mr. Connolly is hosting a public meeting Thursday night (21 January) to share his views on how the country can reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. Mr. Connolly will also report back on a recent trip to an energy conference in Trinidad.
He said the conference was an eye-opening experience, to how far we are behind our regional neighbors.
“It’s quite embarrassing at times when you go away and you realize that all the rhetoric and statements that we make about where we are, how great we are, in fact, countries that have a lot less GDP, a lot less money to be able to devote to this, they’re doing what they can with what they have, and asking for more help,” said Mr. Connolly in an interview earlier this month.
The meeting is at Mary Miller hall. It starts at 7 p-m.
