Cayman Brackers are celebrating a grand re-opening, and a new name for the Brac Reef Resort.
Today, the newly-christened Cayman Brac Beach Resort officially cut the ribbon on its brand new addition, a two story bar area and an expansive 144-thousand gallon infinity pool overlooking the beach on the island’s southwest end.
While the new name might take some getting used to for some, Michael Tibbetts says the family business’ commitment to improving tourism in the Brac stays the same.
“This is, our family legacy. Our family goes back here to the 17-1800’s, some of the first settlers of the island, so as much as it is a business for us, it’s a legacy that we want to carry on, and we’re committed to being here, we’re going to improve the tourism product, we’re going to improve the perception of the island, and we are going to get more people here,” said Mr. Tibbetts.
Work began on the renovations in early August. During the construction, the resort was able to keep all its staff employed until re-opened for guests in November.
