Caymanian rapper Josh Pearl is set to perform at The Orpheum Club in Tampa Florida tonight (Friday February 19). Pearl will be performing as one of several opening attacks for Headliner Stalley, an American rapper signed to Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group.
Pearl says he is thrilled for the opportunity and wants the chance to make his mark in the music industry. In an interview with Cayman 27, he described himself a ‘lover of creativity,’ and so far, he a track record to prove it. Not limiting himself to just music, the rapper recently directed and starred in a short film ‘A SavSide Story’, and has an active hand in the local fashion line YNC Gear. He says to be able to perform on stage in front of new fans is humbling.
Cayman 27 caught up with him hours before the event. He told us he was happy to see all his hard work starting to pay off.
He said, “I just go in know what I have to do, and having no expectations. I am more excited that nervous.”
The Orpheum is the first stop. Following that, they move on to Miami for Saturday night and close off the weekend with one more performance in Orlando on Sunday night.
Pearl was recently awarded Male Artist of the Year at the Poinciana Film Art and Music festival. Tonight, he says he hopes to ‘turn-up’ the crowd with his single ‘My Homies’.
