Coco Fest this weekend

Pedro Castle will be going ‘coco-nuts’ this Saturday (20 February) as local vendors showcase their products, made with the Cayman coconut.  There will be food, drinks, snacks, beauty products, crafts and games! The documentary Bright Spot, which examines Cayman’s coconut industry and its current use,  will also be shown at the festival.

Daybreak’s Delisa Hernandez talks to Bright Spot  filmmaker Tamer Soliman about  the film’sePoinciana Film Festival award, and discuss the importance the coconut once held in Cayman.  Debbie Bodden from Pedro St. James  shares details of what will be seen and experienced at the Coco Fest.

Delisa Hernandez made her TV debut in 2010, as producer and co-host of Cayman 27’s The Conversation. She went on to produce and host The Pulse Cayman 27’s weekly Friday night entertainment show.

In 2011 Delisa was tapped to co-host and co-produce Daybreak - the morning show on Cayman 27. In 2012, she became a weather anchor for Daybreak and then weather anchor for the 6 pm newscast in 2014. She also produced and anchored ‘Entertainment Extra’ a weekly entertainment segment in the 6pm newscast.

She is bi-lingual speaking both English and Spanish. She was born and raised in the Cayman Islands to a Caymanian mother and Honduran Father, with one sibling and 4 dogs.
