Cayman’s new fire chief says he’s confident he’ll get the necessary support from government, to improve the service.
David Hails took over at the helm last week and has earmarked better training and better equipment as two must haves, to serve the community’s needs.
But to do that, he feels he needs backing from above.
“When I did my interview for job, one of my stipulations was to highlight the fact that I couldn’t do the job without the support of the people above me,” said Mr. Hails.
“And they were quite adamant at the interview process that I will receive support when required.”
Mr. Hails has said in the past he plans on being with the service for three years, by which time he hopes to have a suitable Caymanian trained for the top position.
