Red Bay, Cayman Prep and Cayman International School over the weekend emerged as champions of their respective divisions of the CUC Primary Football League.
In the Under-11 Champions Cup, Red Bay’s Jaquan Wray scored six minutes in and Alejandro Holness added another in the 59th to lift Red Bay to a 2-0 win. Red Bay goalkeeper Andres Kirchman was given the Justin Henry Memorial Most Valuable Player Award.
In the Under-11 Consolation Cup, NorthEast Schools and Triple C went to penalties. There, Mickoy Malcolm hit the winner for NorthEast Schools, sealing its first major win in the competition.
Truth For Youth beat Savannah 1-0 in the third-place match.
In the Under-9 division, Cayman Prep won its third-consecutive title after beating St. Ignatius on penalties.
Triple C beat George Town 3-0 to win the Consolation Cup and CIS topped Savannah in the third-place match.
In the Girls Primary Football League, CIS lifted the championship after a 1-0 win over Sir John A. Cumber Primary. Riley Doyle scored the lone goal in that one and Alexia Bromfield was given the Marie Martin Award as the Most Valuable Player.
In the GPFL Consolation Cup, CIS George Town beat Sir John A. Cumber “B” 1-0.
