Steve Harvey brings radio show to Cayman

TV personality Steve Harvey demonstrated Thursday (11 February) to a Cayman audience that he still has a sense of humor about his mistake during the Miss Universe pageant seen around the world. Mr. Harvey brought his morning radio show to Seven Mile Beach for a two-day stint at the Comfort Suites.

“At first, Miss Universe seemed like a good idea,” he said, “But right after I said, ‘Miss Colombia,’ all hell broke loose!”

A poolside crowd was made up of curious vacationers and diehard fans like Natasha Williams who remains a loyal morning listener three years after relocating to Cayman from the U.S. She listens through an iPhone app and appreciates the variety of characters as well as Mr. Harvey’s personality.

“I find him very genuine, very hilarious” she said of Mr. Harvey, “He comes across on the radio, and everything he does, just comes across as genuine, so that’s why I follow them.”
