Track coach at centre of indecent assault report

Sources tell Cayman 27 a track and field coach is at the centre of an indecent assault reported to police last week by a minor.

We first brought you this story on the 23 February.

Cayman 27 will not name the man nor other details in order to protect the identity of the alleged victim.

Cayman Islands Athletics Association President Dr. Dalton Watler says the allegations are serious. He said he would speak with police today (24 February) before deciding whether he’d be interviewed by Cayman 27.

In 2014, a youth football coach was sent to prison for having sex with an underage player.

No charges have been filed in this latest matter.

Police believe the coach has fled Cayman. They say they’re working with international law enforcement.
