Easter senior lunch

The Department of Children and Family services in conjunction with the Seventh Day Adventist church put on a special luncheon today at Pedro St. James to honor senior citizens and celebrate easter as a community.

The luncheon is an opportunity for younger generations to learn first hand what life was like on the island before their parents’ time, making the afternoon engaging and entertaining.

“When you are aging , there are so many things you have to consider , you know, you are going down hill , you’re memory is fading , you’re loosing your ability to communicate in some cases, you’re loosing your friends , you are loosing the ability to get out an interact with other people , so this brings us together , it’s wonderful to see us all get together and enjoy a fellowship like this,” said Cislyn Petgrave, an attendee of this event.

Awards were given out to the oldest male and female and live music was served along with lunch.
