Five deaths in three months, all in our waters, all american tourists.
On Thursday (31 March) a man was spotted unconscious in the water in West Bay. Emergency services were called to West Bay Public Beach.
The man, a 43-year-old from the United States, was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was pronounced dead a little after 1 p. m.
As March draws to a close, it’s not been a good year so far for deaths on our waters.
Two people died in January – a 54 year old diver in West Bay and a 65 year old swimmer off Cemetery Beach. In this month, a 65 year old diving in the Brac; a swimmer last week in George Town who was 79; and the latest death.
