If you’re familiar with the speaking series known as “Ted talks,” you know they feature world- renowned speakers on technology, entertainment and design. There are also local versions of “Ted talks,” including a session that took place at UCCI on Saturday.
This year’s theme was “Future vision,” and gave cayman’s future leaders a chance to hear ideas with global and local appeal… Giving the audience a unique experience beyond the traditional classroom.
“It’s very much geared with the students in mind because they are the next generation , they are the ones who really need to hear these ideas that are worth spreading” said Dr. J.D. Mosely-Matchett
“We’re not exposed as much to a lot of things , although we are on an island where we have expatriates and other people coming to work, we’re exposed to a lot of cultures , with cayman being a melting pot , we also need to know how to survive in the other parts of the world” said Denardio Marsh, a UCCI student.
Local “Ted talks,” both the UCCI and the seven mile beach events, are recorded and shared for worldwide downloading.
