Brian’s home but struggling to find his wings

Brian the booby bird is back home, but it seems the youngster may be struggling to remember how to fly.

On Thursday (28 April) Cayman 27 told you how Brian was found on Seven Mile Beach, suffering from exhaustion and dehydration.

He was nursed back to health at Island Vets and flown on Cayman Airways home to the Brac.

After landing at Charles Kirkconnell International, Brian was released back into the wild, but seemed a little grounded.

The Department of Environment took him to the Sister Islands, and he’s now in the care of volunteer Bonnie Scott Edwards.

He can see his booby buddies high in the sky, and clearly wants to join in, but despite giving it a good flap, he’s struggling to take off.

After spending the past week or so recovering, it may take him a little while, to get his wings back.
