Cayman Islands golfers recently competed at a pair of tournaments in Montego Bay, Jamaica — eight in the Caribbean Classic Championship and another five in the Classic Stableford tournament.

The best performance came from the team of Robert Woods and Scott Kapuscinski, who finished second place in the men’s 50-years-and-older division of the best-ball tournament.

Nitti Howe and Emma Woodhouse finished fourth in the women’s over 30 class, Tracy Moore and Jonathan Joyce in the men’s 35-and-older class and Stephen Heal and Andy Newton finished fifth in the men’s 60-and-older class.

The low round came from Moore and Joyce, who finished round one at 1-under 71.

In the Classic Stableford competition, Diane Brazel finished runner-up in the third flight while Rocio Esau took fourth in the fourth flight of the competition, which adjusts for players’ handicaps.

Paul Woodhouse led the way on the men’s side, taking fourth in flight one. Mick Whitworth and Jan Mars placed fifth and seventh, respectively, in flight two.
