Cayman wraps up at Hong Kong 7s

The Borelli-Walsh Cayman Islands National Sevens Rugby Team over the weekend wrapped up its play at the prestigious Hong Kong 7s tournament.

Making its debut, Cayman became the 58th nation ever to play in the competition. The local squad went 0-3 in the group stage while trying to qualify through to the main draw. It fell to Hong Kong, Zimbabwe and Germany by a combined 126-5.

Captain Mark Soto made history for Cayman in the second group game versus Zimbabwe. Soto in the second half rumbled in for a try that marked Cayman’s first score at the event.
