Grenada’s Kirani James opened his outdoor season over the weekend by running a world-leading time in the 400 metres at the Chris Brown Bahamas Invitational.
James crossed the line in 44.36 seconds, the second-fastest season debut for the Olympic champion.
“It’s still early,” James said after the race. “Like I said, it’s the first race. When we get back to ‘Bama, we’ll look at the race again, see what we can build on, decide how to improve from there.”
