No stones thrown at the Glass House

Six months after demolition was supposed to begin on the Glass House, the first stone still has not been thrown.

In 2015, government put out a tender to identify a company to tear down the old government building. Demolition was expected to begin back in October and wrap up by January.

Chief Officer Tristan Hydes says despite the progress that has taken place government is being cautious before it acts. It is considering concerns that the building is viewed as a landmark and should not be destroyed, but others disagree and say the building is a relic that has served its time.
