Police name gun suspect

Detectives Monday take the unusual step of naming a suspect they call “Armed and dangerous”, after a firearms incident.

Around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, armed officers on patrol in the vicinity of McField Square in George Town were confronted by an armed man.

One police officer drew his gun and ordered the man to drop his weapon.

But while pointing his gun at officers, he ran off.

Police say they want help finding 22-year-old Jonathan Welcome from Bodden Town.

And they are warning the public he’s considered armed and dangerous, and should not be approached.
