Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin was present at the 2 p.m. sitting of the special LA meeting (Wednesday 13 April) called to look at the Private Member’s Motions dealing with police governance and management of operations.
Cabinet Minister Hon. Tara Rivers who showed up at the morning sitting before it was postponed was not present for the afternoon.
The premier asked for the the meeting to be adjourned as quorum again has not been met. Opposition Leader Hon. McKeeva Bush said he is concerned proper notification was not given.
Five minutes were given for another summoning of the absent members. Once no other members showed up, House Speaker Hon. Juliana O’Connor Connolly adjourned the meeting, walking out during Mr. Bush’s protests.
The next meeting is slated for 25 April at 9 a.m.
