30 for 30

As yoga connects the mind to the body, an aspiring yoga teacher wants her students to connect a little of their money to some of society’s needs, and do it in honor of her birthday!

She calls it “Thirty for Thirty,” in honor of that milestone birthday. She organized a yoga class to raise awareness and funds for charities specializing in education, food and animal protection.
“My main purpose behind this event, my intention is to try and get the message across that between the ages from conception to about seven especially, what we expose our children to, whether environmentally or through nutrition, really effects them and sets them up psychologically, more importantly, for when they become adults and who they’re going to be,” said Stephanie Espeut, the Yoga instructor.

Each student donated 30 dollars to be divided between the National Trust’s Educational Programme, Feed Our Future, and Cayman Animal Rescue Enthusiasts.
