Cayman’s Academy SC Select team opened play at the Cayman Airways Youth Football Cup 11 May with a 1-1 draw with Honduras’ CD Victoria.
Cayman trailed 1-0 at the half of its group opener but equalised after the break.

“Right now I’m really excited to play against foreign teams from other countries,” Academy’s Mason Duval said earlier in the week. “It’s a good experience for us and I think that it’ll improve our quality of football in the future.”
Some local favourites were in action on day two.
Jamaica’s Cavalier Soccer Club came back from a 1-0 deficit to beat Swindon Town FC 2-1. Swindon’s Harvey Flippance scored to put the English side up but Cavaliers’ Michael Allen and Jamari Morrison each scored in the second half to lift the Jamaicans to victory.
Orlando City and LA Galaxy drew 2-2 in the second game on day two.
Tournament headliner Manchester City was in action late 10 May. City fell behind DC United 1-0 in the first half before Thomas Doyle equalised just before the half. City then pulled away for the 5-1 win thanks to a pair of second half goals each from Taylor Richards, Bobby Duncan.
