A man is in the hospital with serious injuries after his car and a garbage truck collided. The incident happened along Shamrock road shortly after 5 am on Saturday morning.

He has been identified as 19 year old Stevyn Lynch of North Side. Mr Lynch was rushed to the Cayman Islands Hospital after the front end of the Honda motor car he was travelling in was crushed by a ‘Roll-On Roll-Off’ dump truck.

He remains in a stable but serious condition. Cayman 27 reached out to his family, they have asked for prayers for a speedy and full recovery of Stevyn.

His crash was one of three severe accidents to have occurred over the last three days. One Saturday 34 year old Anthony Moore of Newlands was killed after being knocked off his bicycle in a hit and run accident. Then on Monday. May 2, two people were rushed to the Cayman Islands Hospital after a serious two car crash in Frank Sound.

That incident happened in the early morning hours when a black pickup truck and a silver sedan collided at the junction of Rossini Street and Union Street, along Frank Sound road, a short distance from the Mastic Trail.

Police, Emergency Services and Fire Services attended the scene. The collision also affected the morning commute. Anyone with any information on any of the three accidents are asked to contact the RCIPS at 324-9853, or 949-4222 or 800 TIPS (8447).
