Jamaican Janieve Russell won the women’s 400-metre hurdles event over the weekend at the IAAF Diamond League meet, in Rabat, Morocco.
She cruised past the rest of the field to finish in 54.16 seconds.
That’s a personal best and her performance marks the first time she’s won a Diamond League event.
“My expectation coming out here was to execute the race like my coach wants me to,” Russell said. “And it shows that I am doing what he wants. It’s not perfect as yet but the time is going down. So I’m on the right track.”
