Christopher Reeves scored a pair of goals Sunday (5 June) to lead Elite to the Cayman Islands Football Association FA Cup title with a 2-0 win over Bodden Town.
Reeves scored in the first minute and added some insurance in the 56th.
“It meant a lot because after I scored the first goal then we started playing good,” Reeves said. “We kept the ball and we keep possession and that’s all.”
Bodden Town keeper Ramon Sealy was under duress throughout the match thanks to Elite’s persistent attack. Sealy made several fantastic saves throughout the game but let two through that made the difference.
For Elite, it was a bit of redemption after falling to Scholars last week in a game determining the CIFA Premier League champion.
“We actually lost the league last week so this was the last opportunity we had and we kept it,” Reeves said.
