A lawyer accused of grievous bodily harm tells a jury, he remembers nothing after the car crash.
Simon Courtney gave evidence today and said 12 hours after it’s said the two pedestrians walking on West Bay Road were hit, he woke up on Britannia Golf Course, under a bush.
Mr. Courtney told the jury although he was trained in first aid, he never helped the injured woman because someone told him not to.
He insisted he’d left his cell phone at home that day, and went back to the Ritz Carlton hotel to call 911. But he said he became panicked, very disoriented and had no idea where he was.
After waking up on the golf course, Mr. Courtney said he went home and showered before going to George Town Police Station.
Under cross-examination, he denied he was driving at great speed, and said he had no recollection of a sign in the street warning him of road works.
The trial continues.
