A young goal keeper is cut down in his Prime. 24 year old Bodden Town goal keeper Michael Gourzong, died after encountering difficulties near the reef of Spots Dock.

Tributes, well wishes and found memories continue to pour in on his social media accounts. One common theme that stands out was his good sportsmanship that on and off the field. For more than a decade, Michael played for Bodden Town FC. He went through their junior  programme all the way to the senior levels, devoting himself to the game and his teammates. Former Sports Minister and President of Bodden Town FC Mark Scotland says his death is a tremendous loss to the community.

He told Cayman 27, “He was a very good player, [he] contributed but not only a very good football player he was a good all round young man; well rounded as you can see, a christian young man, and [he had] a good job in the community as well. So he is going to be seriously missed.”
