Pittsburgh rookie Conor Sheary scored early in overtime on Wednesday (1 June) to give the Pittsburgh Penguins a 2-1 win over San Jose Sharks and a 2-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Final.

Pittsburgh forward Phil Kessel scored at 8:20 of the second period as the Penguins dominated regulation time in Game Two of the best-of-seven series.

The Sharks went more than 11 minutes in the second period without putting a shot on Penguins rookie goalie Matt Murray.

However, San Jose threw caution to the wind in the final period and defenseman Justin Braun managed to drift a shot through a crowd in front of Murray for the tying goal with four minutes and five seconds remaining.

Braun has been playing in the series despite the death of his father in law, former NHL player Tom Lysiak, on Monday (30 May).
