After cops were caught on camera tazing a suspect, police say film away, they’ve got nothing to hide.
Last Friday (3 June) a video went viral of police chasing down a gun suspect and shooting him with the electronic weapon.
That clip was viewed more than 40,000 times… But police say if they’re doing their job right…. Then camera phones don’t add any pressure.
“I would expect my officers, as would the current Acting Commissioner, to be behaving and delivering a service to the best of their standard,” said Superintendent Robert Graham.
“This is an open community. And where there are incidents were perhaps issues may not appeared to be the way they are expected to do, then we will obviously react.
This is very much a learning organisation. All I can say is I know, and I am very confident, the officers are working tirelessly to deliver.”
It’s worth pointing out that if anyone obstructs police carrying out their duties, or doesn’t comply to an officers request, they could end up under arrest.
The man seen in this video, a 22 year old from East End, remains on police bail.
