South Africa tops Aussies in Tri-Nations

South Africa successfully defended its total of 189 and fought off a rain delay to beat Australia by 47 runs 7 June in the Tri-Nations Series competition.

The results leaves West Indies, Australia and South Africa each sitting at 1-1.

“We obviously love winning games of cricket,” South Africa Captain AB de Villiers said. “That’s what we play for and I thought we had a fantastic game today so I’m very happy.”

Farhaan Behardien’s fifth One Day International half-century helped seal it for the Proteas, who needed to recover from 112 for 6.

South Africa’s bowlers tore through the Aussies’ lineup. Only Aaron Finch scored more than 30 runs for the Aussies.
