Those who offer hospitality to our visitors here on island donned their glad-rags to find out who’s the best in the business. This is the thirteenth year the Sting Ray awards has recognised the hard work and service of employees in the industry.

From water-sports, to hotels and restaurants tourism employees who are at the top of their game picked up awards and so did people on their way up like Kimberley Conolly who picked up the rising star award and has already set her sights on bigger awards in the future.

“This is a foot in the door and it’s time to work for the next 30 decades to get to the long service award achievement and I just took on another staff so we’re getting out there,” Ms. Conolly said.

Patrick Kenney of Red Sail Sports won the award for long service in tourism while Peter Hillenbrand was the winner for the life time award. Other notable awards include Ken Hydes who received the Minister’s prize from the Hon. Moses Kirkconnel and Jay Mehta who received the Allied employee of the year award.

The ceremony was hosted by media personality Catherine Tyson and Director of the Reef Resort Gaetin Babin.
