A nine-year-old cyclist is planning to ride the extra mile – almost 500 of them – for not one, not two, but three of his favourite charities.
Alex Dailey told Cayman 27 he is ready for the epic two-wheel trek across the rolling hills of Iowa in the annual RAGBRAI ride.
He said he knew he wanted his effort to support a local charity, but had trouble picking just one.
“I chose One Dog at a Time because I like doggies, and the Cancer Society because I think it’s really great because they are helping people, and with the Hospice care too. So I just wanted to give them money to keep up the work,” he said.
He said his goal is to raise $3,000 for his hard work.
This year’ s RAGBRAI ride takes place from July 23-30th. It’s the oldest, largest, and longest bicycle touring event in the world.
