The Cayman Islands National Under-15 Girls Football team gets the green light to compete in the upcoming championships for North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
CONCACAF announced Tuesday (5 July) Cayman is one of 22 nations picked to compete in the second edition of the tournament, which is scheduled for 9-21 August, in Orlando, Florida.
The inaugural competition was held in the Cayman Islands in 2014, when Cayman won its group before being knocked out of the quarterfinals by Honduras.
This time around, Cayman opens play 11 August versus Bermuda before taking on Antigua & Barbuda 13 August and Bahamas 14 August. Cayman must win the group to advance to the next round.
Of the 22 participating countries, 16 are from the Caribbean.
